1.7MW SolarTerrace V – Weipa Queensland Australia
Clenergy supplied a 1.7MWdc SolarTerrace V system for Rio Tinto’s Weipa bauxite mine in Cape York—Australia’s first remote commercial diesel-displacement solar project, partly funded by ARENA. Working with First Solar, Clenergy engineered cyclone-rated clamps and customised adapters for thin-film panels to withstand harsh conditions. The robust and easy-to-deploy STV design made it ideal for this large-scale installation. The 1.2MWac plant now provides up to 20% of the township’s daytime electricity, showcasing a pathway for mining sites to reduce diesel dependence. Learn more
